(1985, Abcoude, Holland)

He sent 4 routes above 9A and got a 8B+ level onsight.
He opened up some hard routes on big walls where he is now mostly investing his efforts.

In the World Cup he won 22 podiums between Lead and Boulder and got a medal in the World and European Lead Championships.

As Jorg writes, his life as a climber can be summed up as primarily competition climbing in the beginning, and then bouldering, and now mostly climbing on big sport routes and big walls.

On November 2016 he freed Dihedral Wall (VI 5.14a) over a period of five days.

He worked the climb over the course of several weeks, supported by his wife, Austrian climber Katharina Saurwein, and in turn supported her on Final Frontier (5.13b).
