Route Setters

The route-setter team, Milano Climbing Expo: premium climbers with the passions and capacity to make other climbers “dreaming their dream”.

Alberto Gnerro

He began to climb in 1986, and took part to the first international races competing with the great Edlinger-Moffat-Simon Nadin – Ben Moon with great results, until winning the third Italian title in 1992.

In parallel he progresses the Outdoor experience and mostly challenged himself climbing on-sight top routes still unrepeated today reaching level 8b.
Along 2002 he sends the first Italian 9a after-work!

To complete the experience of climber Alberto began to dedicate himself to route setting, becoming one of the few International professional setter in 1998.
He designed and set numerous World Cups and National races in about 20 years of experience!

In the midst of all this, his passion for climbing led him to open new routes and discover new lands especially in the nearby Valle d’Aosta. The cube -Gressoney -Sarre and the cliff around are part of the history of Italian climbing, and more.

In 2006 he founded the Runout climbing school in Biella.
With the Docrock brand founded 5 years ago, Alberto’s passion for climbing becomes a real job. DocRock is sponsor of Milano Climbing Expo.
